Dr. Zeliadt is currently a science writer at Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, a widely-read multidisciplinary journal that covers the biological, physical, and social sciences. She writes brief summaries of recently published scholarly articles on a wide variety of scientific topics, which helps her to stay up-to-date on the latest advances in cancer research. As a former research scientist, she co-authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and has a deep knowledge of molecular cancer cell biology. In addition, she developed and taught public health coursework at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. She was the recipient of a prestigious Mass Media Fellowship from the Association for the Advancement of Science and has written for Scientific American.

Dr. Zeliadt earned her PhD in toxicology from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN, and her BA in biochemistry from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, IA.
